For a country almost entirely covered in sand and rock, Namibia has an unexpectedly delicious side. So make 2020 the year you finally take that road trip and gorge yourself on affordable oysters, local game, German pastries and great local beer.

Kolmanskop is a famous deserted diamond-mining town, which has slowly been taken over by time and sand, blown in from the Namib Desert. The town now stands empty and is best explored at dawn when the light sparkles off the sand.  2016 means I've beginning my fourth year as a travel journalist at Getaway Magazine. Sjoe, it's gone by in a flash!  Over the last year I visited some really incredible places in Southern Africa, here's a collection of my favourite photographs and travel experiences from 2015.
