SOUTH AFRICA
There's no place like home. I have been bred in the bushveld and have visited the sprawling Waterberg mountains since I was eight. Both my grandfathers were born in the area: one on a farm in Naboomspruit (now Mookgopong), and the other under a tree on a cattle farm just outside Nylstroom (now Modimolle).
South Africa is a dream destination and an enchanting home. It instilled in a me a deep appreciation for diversity. Home to the ocean, desert, savannah, mountains, forest, farm and a seriously spirited society where so many people believe in possibility, South Africa remains my soul space. Walk 250km through the Karoo? Sure. Snorkel with seals? Where's my wetsuit. Sleep in a treehouse? Are you kidding, hand me the damn keys. Oh wait, there are none.
